[ Amber opens the door with alarming speed, as if she's been hovering behind it all this while. She may have been, judging from how alert she seems despite the ungodly hour. At least she remembers to smile before stepping out to join him. The screamer system should still be activated right now. ]
[Never let it be said Ginko denied a crewmate in need. As it is, her words prompt only the briefest of smiles from him before he offers her the small box.]
Hopefully this will do the trick. Brew a tea with this, and it would encourage a dreamless sleep. Not the most pleasant tasting thing, though.
Not a thing. Get a good night's sleep and we'll call it even.
[Somewhat odd (and a bit relieving at the same time) to not have to barter a price for his services. His usual wants—food and temporary shelter, primarily—were largely taken care of here. And with that out of the way, all it came down to was the desire to help others out.]
[ Amber drops her eyes to the box, quiet for a long moment, enough to turn the air rather tense with her lack of response. She's thinking, you see, whether accepting his gift would mean something sinister down the road. It's better to give something back of equal value and really call it even. It's much cleaner that way. Simpler. After an eternity and a second, she looks up to give him a smile, this time fond, not at all like her usual Stepford ones. ]
Ask me to grab you a tentacle or two again next time.
[Ginko would have laughed had he ever come to realize that anyone might have considered his motivations to be sinister. The selflessness, though it was now a little more prominent than it had been in the past, was something so ingrained in him that he seldom thought to wonder how it might come across to folks less used to such behavior.
When the silence finally passes, he returns the smile, though it takes a slightly wry twist at her comment.]
Perhaps I will. Who knows what monstrosities there will be to study in the future.
[ Looking out only for oneself is the only thing she knew for the longest time. The opposite of that remains a mystery to her to this day. She can't quite understand the whys and hows of it. ]

It would be a travesty if I don't.
[ Having served the Queen's country etc. But really, this is for Havoc. ]

Would you mind bringing a few night's worth? Only so I don't have to keep calling for you.

Of course. I'll swing by momentarily, then.
[ And true to his word, about ten minutes later he arrives with a small container in tow. He knocks softly on the rover door. ]
